Books and Hooks is a blog dedicated to providing
occasionally crude quality reviews of novels I have read as well as a medium to share hooks I’ve written. In this way it is a means of sharing my thoughts of novels and receiving comments/criticism for my own writing. Usually hooks, to my knowledge, refer to the first couple sentences of a novel that are meant to draw the reader into the story, for my purposes a hook on this blog will refer to the first 100 words or less of a piece.
I am a student currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Linguistics and Psychology. I hope to became a speech-language pathologist and work in hospitals with people who have suffered damage to their vocal cords, or with children in a clinical setting. If I had an ultimate dream or aspiration I would reply that I would like to live in a loft above a bookstore in New York and write young adult novels for a living.
